A greater awareness of road safety

In France, SUEZ environnement and the organisation Association Prévention Routière held events to highlight the road safety rules that make it safer for trucks, cars, cyclists and pedestrians to share the road. On a day specially set aside, employees were invited to put their skills behind the wheel to the test on a driving simulator and to refresh their knowledge of the Highway Code. Throughout the year, managers were asked to analyse the practices of employees commuting between home and work with support from an organisation specialised in preventing road risks for businesses.

Avoiding accidents in confined spaces

To prevent accidents in confined spaces, the technology department at Suzhou SIP JV has developed a set of tools that make it possible to loosen tangled fibres, pick up large pieces of debris or remove fine-grained sediments from reservoirs. Thanks to this automated system, technicians no longer have to enter confined spaces. Not only does this drastically reduce risks, it also increases work efficiency and lowers operating costs. The project won the Grand Prix in the environmental performance and social responsibility category in the Sino French Water Innovation Trophies.
