An enhanced training offer

In China, SUEZ environnement has reinforced its commitment to employee training since 2013. To reach its development targets and improve the working conditions of its personnel in the Water activities, SUEZ environnement organised or jointly organised at least 16 training programmes in 2014, which were attended by 530 employees of the head office and joint ventures. The Human Resources seminar, for instance, attracted 42 people for presentations of the HR master plan and an opportunity to share best administrative practices. Specialist training modules were also provided in procurement management and crisis communications.

An online training programme in ethics

SUEZ environnement has developed an online training programme for its Water activities in Spain, consisting of three hour-long sessions to raise employees’ awareness of ethical risks and strengthen risk prevention, give information on Spanish legislation regarding data protection and the application of legal standards to everyday tasks, and circulate the Code of Ethics. More than 3,000 employees completed this training in 2013 and 2014. The programme will continue in 2015 to allow all employees to benefit from it.

Optimizing Personal Talents

The OPT (Optimizing Personal Talents) methodology is used by SUEZ environnement in Algeria to develop managerial skills in the framework of its management contract with SEAAL. It allows managers to pilot their own individual development programmes and their teams’ programmes. OPT is based on an individual diagnosis of the managerial potential of each manager involved in the process, a tailored support programme devised by SUEZ environnement teams, and an objective evaluation system that makes it possible to measure each manager’s expanding skill set and development of managerial practices. This innovative approach, which consolidates know-how acquired and supports managerial empowerment, was awarded the SUEZ environnement Grand Prix for Innovation in 2014.
